Advisor Managed Accounts
This program sets Babin Investment Management apart from many other financial advisors. Just as you and your needs are unique, so is our portfolio program.
Who Is It Suitable For?
The Advisor Managed Account (AMA) is for people who have investment portfolios of $250,000 or more, and live busy lives, which require professionals to manage day-to-day investment decisions based on pre-determined investment guidelines.
Why We Do it
The financial services industry can be very complicated and confusing, with endless products to choose from. We aim to offer easy to understand and conservative investment solutions for our clients. Our founder, Mark Babin, summarizes below why we do what we do:
“After the 2008 market crash, I listened to my clients’ concerns. Many of them owned mutual funds and some owned blue chip stocks. Although most investments were down dramatically clients felt more comfortable (PEACE OF MIND) when they owned a company that paid dividends and whose business they understood (SIMPLICITY). Further, returns were being impacted to a greater extent by management fees and a result of lower stock market returns. Lastly, clients wanted more transparency of the fees they were being charged.
Having worked 23 years in the investment industry, I returned to the books and completed my ‘Chartered Investment Manager’ designation in order to meet the needs of my clients. I went through the interview process to acquire my ‘Portfolio Manager’ designation and started managing our model stock portfolio, July 1, 2010.”
Mark Babin 2017 Portfolio Manager
We invest primarily in household names, and people are often surprised at how simplistic, yet effective, our strategy is. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the hype around the latest and greatest companies and industries, and while there is certainly some merit to investing in something at the “ground floor”, we find comfort in investing in companies that have proven track records and that we are confident will be around next month, year, decade, etc.
How It Works
We will work together with you to develop an Investment Policy Statement (IPS) that is unique to you. Then we will apply a suitable strategy to match your investment goals, objectives, risk tolerance and timelines. Next, continuous monitoring of your portfolio structure will ensure it remains consistent with your goals and risk tolerance. Any changes can be implemented immediately. Finally, you will sit down at least annually with us to review your portfolio and revisit your future plans.
